An end of life decision is a pet owner's most difficult
task. When a pet is terminally ill, knowing when
to end his or her suffering can add hardship for
the human family. We are here to help you decide when your
pet's quality of life has diminished to the point where it
is time to say goodbye.
When it is time, we provide
humane euthanasia in a quiet and compassionate place, where you and
your family may be with your pet if you chose. If you wish
to have your pet's remains cremated, we provide this service through
Bubbling Well in Napa. Each pet is also memorialized with an
imprint of the paw.

For
adults or children who need additional help with grieving for the
loss of a pet, Pet Loss Support is available:
By
telephone, through the
UC Davis Pet Loss Support Hotline
at (530)752-4200.
In a group
setting, through the Pet Loss Support Program (sponsored
by the Contra Costa VMA and the East Berkeley Humane
Society). A group meeting is held twice monthly.
There is no
fee for either the hotline or the group meetings.
