VETERINARIANS
Laura L. Becker, D.V.M.
|
Dr.
Laura Becker received her Bachelor of Science degree in
Animal Science and Zoology in 1977 and her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine degree in 1980 from Colorado State
University, with a special interest in avian and exotic
medicine. In 1984, she became a partner at Four
Corners Veterinary Hospital, and has continued to
develop her expertise in the field through continuing
education programs and membership in professional
organizations. She also has maintained her interest in
canine and feline internal medicine and surgery, and
enjoys the group practice she and her colleagues share
at Four Corners Veterinary Hospital.
In the community, Dr. Becker has served
on the Oakland Animal Shelter Commission, the board of
the Alameda County Veterinary Medical Association, and
she has been a coordinator of numerous ongoing
elementary school education programs at the Oakland
Zoo. She and her husband have 2 teenage children, and
numerous rescued pets including a special needs terrier
mix named Lucky. They all enjoy outdoor activities when
time allows.

Terry P. Kubicka, D.V.M.
|
Dr.
Kubicka finished his undergraduate work at California
Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo before
going on to U.C. Davis where he received his D.V.M.
degree in 1987. He then completed an internship with
Sacramento Animal Medical Group the following year,
before starting at Four Corners Veterinary Hospital in
1988 and became a partner in 1989.
Dr.
Kubicka has served on local Veterinary Boards as well as
a Director of the Contra Costa Emergency Center.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Kubicka savors the time with
his wife and three children.
He is
a big supporter of their athletic endeavors and enjoys
time at the local gym. Dr. Kubicka also enjoys
traveling and judging as an International Figure Skating
Technical Specialist.

Evelyn S. Ivey, D.V.M., Dipl. ABVP (Avian)
|
Dr.
Ivey joined the staff of Four Corners Veterinary
Hospital in 2007. She graduated Magna cum Laude from Cornell
University in 1991 and received her veterinary degree from the University
of California at Davis in 1996. Following a one year
small animal medical and surgical internship at the
Animal Medical Center in New York City, she completed an
exotic pet residency and received her ABVP Board
certification in Avian Medicine in 1999. She served
as a staff veterinarian at the Veterinary School of The
University of Pennsylvania where she taught veterinary
students in the classroom and on clinical rotations. She
has lectured across the country and and authored several scientific and review
papers on avian and exotic pet topics.

Lauren Knobel,
D.V.M.
|
Dr. Lauren L. Knobel came to California in 1980 and
completed her B.A. with honors at Mills college in
Oakland in 1984. She was one of 4 WICHE students
from the state of Hawaii which sponsored her
education at Colorado State University where she
received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in
1990.
She has practiced in Oakland since her return in
1990, owning her own hospital from 1995 until 2006
where after she joined the Four Corners team. Dr.
Knobel has strong interests in client education,
internal medicine, dentistry, behavior and
rehabilitative medicine. She is active in the Great
Dane and German Shepherd Rescue Foundations.
Dr. Knobel enjoys spending her free time traveling,
cooking and playing with her 4 legged and feathered
family of 3 dogs, 2 cats, a tortoise and 6 chickens.
